Cost Savings

The Texas State Energy Conservation Office (SECO) conducted a study in 2005 searching for evidence that a "cool" roof could actually cut energy costs and ultimately save money.  When the research was completed in 2007, there were some interesting facts that surfaced during their study.

According to their study, (view entire pdf), SECO applied reflective coating to four portable classrooms in the San Antonio area. The school district provided utility bills, and technicians prepared an preliminary energy profile based on electric usage so that a clear baseline was determined for the study. Beginning data was logged on August 26, 2005 and was completed on August 11, 2006.

It was reported that a classroom with a reflective coating saw as much as a 35-degree temperature difference vs. the non-coated.  Furthermore, during a six-month cooling cycle, the reflective coating saved approximately $94,311 for the school district.

Taking advantage of reflective roofing solutions can mean cost savings for facility managers and property owners.  If you would like to learn more about the role we are playing in helping our customers save money, contact us today.  We look forward to hearing from you.
