Hail Damage Repair

Hail can cause significant damage to your roof.  Sometimes the symptoms of hail damage are difficult to spot, but looking at the items below will help you as you inspect your roof for potential hail damage.

Check Gutters
Checking all gutters and downspouts is a great place to start to see if your roof has experienced hail damage.  Looking for dings and other imperfections in your gutters and/or downspouts could potentially mean the damage was done from hail.  Many of the newer gutters and downspouts are thin enough that even smaller hail stones can easily make a dent.  If you do see this damage, you could possibly have hail damage on your roof.

Look for Leaks
Hail damage isn't always obvious from the outside.  Furthermore, it may take more time for damage to be seen on the inside of your building.  If you are noticing leaks or other serious damage to the interior of your building, you could have a problem with your roof.  Keep an eye out for internal problems when it comes to potential hail damage.

Inspect your Roof
If you have access to your building's roof, the best place to start looking for hail damage is on your roof.  Knowing what to look for is half the battle.  Be sure to check out vents, drip edges, gutters and other metal objects such as HVAC equipment for damage.  Circular dimples in some of these areas could mean your roof experienced hail damage.

You cannot control Mother Nature.  However, you don't have to go through costly damage to the inside of your building if you know what to look for.  If your school or office building has hail damage, and you need professional help, give us a call.  B&L General Contractors are commercial roofers located in the Atlanta area that has served the local community since 1989.  Learn more about the type of companies we have serviced, or contact us through our website to schedule a visit.
